Kalliste Style

What to expect from Kalliste Tours?

Handcrafted tours, heartfelt experiences.

Kalliste Tours is the first and only luxury tour company in the world to specialize exclusively in Corsica. Being independent and operating on a human-scale allows us to provide caring and highly personalized service. We privilege personal contact before and during the tours, and dedicate extreme attention to details. Our native expertise allows us to choose only the best of the best for our guests.

In places like Corsica, money alone doesn’t buy service or your way into the culture. Personal introduction is part of the cultural code that will determine how much you can access, and how uniquely Corsican your sojourn will be.

With us, you embark for a rare travel experience, an enriching immersion into the authenticity of a “living culture”, deep into the traditions and history of Corsica and its people. At a time of globalization, it is a privilege to have intimate access to a vanishing world with 10,000 years of unbroken lineage in its traditions. Kalliste Tours allows you “to be” with the people and their culture instead of merely “looking at” a foreign country.

The Tours
Active with a slow pace, our tours are carefully balanced between relaxation and soft adventure, learning opportunities and fun. We visit remote country areas as well as elegant seaside towns and our activities blend together with enough personal time.

Our luxury tours are refined and enchanting, appealing to a sophisticated clientele of travel connoisseurs who desire more than cookie-cutter luxury vacations or lavish but bland 5 Stars hotels packages. Kalliste Tours offers ultra-personalized attention, luxurious cultural journeys and life-transforming experiences that stay with travelers well after they have returned.

Our groups average 4 to 6 people, and are limited to 8. It allows us to circulate with small vehicles, to be flexible, and to dedicate special attention to details, so you can relax and enjoy your voyage. We keep our vehicle and our table smoke-free.

Our itineraries are meticulously arranged and refined yearly, offering ever new opportunities. Our routes and activities are not mechanically repeated as it is too often with tours. These itineraries are “alive” and our creativity brings novelties each year, which has regularly invited our guests to book a second tour, and even to take the same tour twice. In Corsica, people often organize events at the last minute; it is a common thing in the culture. We are well experienced at seizing these opportunities and won’t hesitate to modify the itinerary so you may enjoy a unique celebration, a special “table”, or a last-minute concert. These additions to the tour are always offered without any extra cost.

We create a worry-free journey by offering all-inclusive tours with fixed prices, without complicated options, extra fees or unexpected supplements. Each day brings you sumptuous and generous meals and fine wines. All entrance fees, private visits, extra guides, boat excursions, classes, lectures and all activities are all included.

We provide a supportive and safe environment for people removed from their familiar cultural frame. Especially if you travel alone, or if it is your first traveling experience overseas, you are not left “isolated” or “to figure it out”, but among people who care, yet respect your privacy.

The Food
Corsica, with no industry, offers pure mountain water and real food. We privilege fresh locally produced and crafted food, mostly organic or bio-dynamic, and mountain free-range meats. France-Marie, a third generation French gastronome and a former nutritionist, truly cares about the cuisine’s authenticity and the quality of the food and wines, as well as the atmosphere where the meals are taking place. There are countless restaurants in Corsica, and she knows which ones to avoid, for being “tourists traps.” Her philosophy includes supporting local farmers, wine-makers, shepherds, and fishermen. She personally reviews all the restaurants each year, all family owned and run, and often invites the chef to come to your table.

The traditional Corsican way of eating is lavishly delicious and healthy at the same time, including a sense for the seasons, the rhythms of nature and the local traditions. We value the long-lasting enjoyment of discovering and savoring, slowly, the flavors of old-fashioned local cuisine, and of being immersed in the sensuality and pleasures of a traditional table, whether it is “at the farm” or in a four star sea-side resort.

Accommodations
All accommodations are family owned and operated and chosen for their Corsican authenticity, historical allure, their intimate size, long-serving staff, old-fashioned hospitality, and exquisite quiet setting. You enjoy wonderful views, discreet luxury, relaxed elegance, and genuine art de vivre. All are four stars Luxe, and members of the Leading Small Hotels of the World and of Chateaux & Hotels de France. Expect to be personally greeted in these places. You conveniently unpack only once and settle in.

Kalliste Philosophy
Our fascinating and meaningful journeys aim to renew the heart and the spirit, enliven the intellect and nurture the body and the senses, allowing everyone to experience this renewal in their own very personal way. This happens naturally because you travel with only a handful of like-minded guests or with your own small group.

Kalliste Tours promotes environmental and cultural knowledge, involving local people and supporting local art and traditions. We carefully select companies and individuals who share our values of integrity, professional service, and help us to respect our principles of caring attention, bringing people together, enhancing the well-being of our guests, and of respecting the places and people we encounter.

We like to convey true impressions, therefore, the descriptions and photography that you are discovering while visiting this site correspond truly to what you may expect while traveling with us.
