”Natale”
in Corsica is old-fashioned, untainted by excessive
consumerism. Christmas time has retained its magic
and Corsicans celebrate Christian Nativity, ancient formalities
from their shamanic cultural past such as rituals honoring the
passage of time, and local culinary traditions.
Celebrate in a warm old-world
atmosphere, stroll in festive narrow-cobbled
streets reserved for pedestrians, hear Corsican
polyphonies and “Canti Natali” by local groups and
brotherhoods in ancient chapels.
You walk along the coast on deserted fine
sand beaches, visit 15th century Genoese towers, enjoying
the tranquil Corsican Winter. Around the time of the Winter Solstice,
sunsets and sunrises on the Mediterranean are spectacular.
You may contemplate such beauty from your private terrace.

Corsican winter brings bounty
from the sea, a variety of local fish and sea-urchins and
oysters that you can see, and taste, while we visit the market.
Walk, talk and taste your way
through the local winter open market
In the mountains, it is the season
for wild boar, “charcuterie”and specialty cheeses.
Every day you savor different traditional gourmet treats.
At the shepherd’s house, you witness the making
of the famous “bruccio”, made only in Corsica, before
tasting. A cheese, but not really a cheese, made of sheep
and goat milk and used in omelettes, pastas, fish, meats, vegetables
or desserts.

You admire world-class paintings at a museum displaying six
centuries of these Italian, French, Flemish, Dutch and Spanish masters.
You may want toshop for beautiful local crafts in
town, or at the workshop’s artisans.
Before Christmas Eve, you have plenty of time to relax, to
enjoy a massage with Corsican essential oils, or maybe
a swim in the indoor pool overlooking the Mediterranean.

Then, we gather around the fireplace for a Champagne toast
to the Yule season, Christmas for some, Hanukah for others,
Solstice or Kwanzaa, we are honoring all traditions.

Our five course gastronomy Christmas Dinner and Christmas
Day Lunch are taken at a prestigious local establishment,
the favorite of many local gastronomes.
Imagine the charm of a warm home, the festive
ambiance of Holidays, the smell of winter greens and the most
exquisite cuisine and wines coupled with world-class service.
“A Ceppu di Natale”, the Corsican version of
the “Bûche de Nöel” is traditionally a Yule log with chestnuts
and chocolate, decorated with marzipan, fruits confits,
meringues and nougat.
Our guests are always very surprised how light
and comfortable they feel after such epicurean meals.
This is due to the exceptional quality of the
ingredients, the traditional knowledge of how to combine food,
the subtleties of the cooking methods and the relaxed atmosphere
we enjoy around the table.
